Artist Statement:
What is there to say about painting? Any attempt to pin it down feels incomplete. Yet I would be lying if I said that I did not know what I was doing. I have a few beliefs which help me along the way; I try to see things freshly, and translate them intuitively into a language of paint or drawing. I try to reach a point of coherence, where all of the elements relate to each other by the same architectural laws. But - and this is the tricky bit - the law itself must remain a mystery. With the painting paused for a moment in illogicality.
